Brenda Stehelin is of First Nations ancestry and has lived and raised her family here in the north for over 50 years, and she has no intention of ever leaving.

Brenda has dabbled in painting and sewing, and although she enjoys these as an occasional outlet for her creativity, she much prefers the medium of glass. All it took to initiate the lasting love affair between Brenda and stained glass, was a single evening class. It has been 20 years since and the passion for glass has yet to waiver.

The glass’s rich hues and textures has inspired the exploration of new ways to use glass outside of its traditional boundaries. Her favorite part of the process is in the discovery of the discarded, found, repurposed, antique items she uses in her work.
